Museum Happenings: July

June was a very busy time for the Museum, as our programming reached over 1,000 children! We have had a blast exploring Modern Art, Mythology, and Mississippi Artists in our summer camps for children in grade 1-5, and we enjoyed kickstarting the summer with our Middle School camp and Mini Masters camp. Each day we are also visited by daycares in our Passport to Art Program, as we travel around the world learning about new cultures through stories, artifacts, and art. The afternoons are busy with weekly visits from Horizons and Rebel Quest as well. Leading these efforts this summer are our two summer VISTAs, Holly Badger and Mary Holland Burnett. We are fortunate to have a great team of returning interns and year-long VISTA to make all of this programming possible as well as to reach beyond the physical walls of the  Museum to Sardis, Crenshaw, Batesville, and more!

In July we are continuing full speed ahead to finish out a great summer here at the UM Museum!
